Kryvyi Rih, August 2025 — The Centre for the Development and Socialization of Children and Youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders (hereinafter – the Centre), operating under the NGO “Foundation of the United Hearts”, has renovated its sports hall, purchased equipment for music therapy, and participated in launching an inclusive art project. These initiatives were made possible with the support of the Charitable Foundation “Angels of Salvation” (hereinafter – the Foundation).
In June 2025, the art project “The Heart Sees This Way” was launched. As part of the project, the Centre hosted a series of clothing painting workshops. Children and teenagers with autism spectrum disorders took part in the activities.
Funds for the renovation of the sports hall were raised during a charity marathon held in Dnipro in the fall of 2024. The renovation was completed in early 2025.
As part of the project, new sports equipment, soft flooring, and modern heaters were installed, allowing physical activities to take place in comfortable conditions. The space has been adapted to meet the needs of children and youth with autism spectrum disorders.

"For children and youth with autism spectrum disorders, creating an inclusive and adapted environment is a key factor for successful socialization and development. Thanks to close cooperation with the Charitable Foundation “Angels of Salvation”, we were able to modernize our sports hall, greatly expanding opportunities for physical activity and rehabilitation," said instructor Nataliia Pastushenko.

The Foundation supports infrastructure improvements that create safe and functional environments for children and youth with disabilities. Such spaces help stabilize emotional well-being, encourage socialization, and develop independence skills.

Between January and April 2025, the Centre also received musical instruments and a laptop for corrective and developmental activities. The equipment was purchased thanks to donations raised during the charity music event Ukraine Rocks - Metal for Fred.
Music therapy, an important component of the Centre’s work, has received a new boost with the introduction of its own instrumental base. This allows more effective support for children and youth in developing sensory and communication skills while reducing anxiety.

"Receiving new instruments for music therapy sessions has given our children an excellent opportunity to further expand the space to explore their hidden abilities and talents. It’s impossible not to notice that during the sessions, all participants gain not only psychological relief but also discover new ways of communication, overcome sensory barriers, develop social skills, and gradually become more confident, thereby reducing stress," says the mother of one of the Centre’s participants.

The Foundation invests in solutions with long-term impact. Music is an effective tool for supporting emotional well-being, especially when working with children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD).

The Centre regularly offers classes in adaptive physical education, sensory integration, music therapy, creativity, social and life skills, and communication. Its operation is made possible thanks to dedicated volunteer specialists and an active team of parents.

The number of families turning to the Centre is growing. Currently, up to 30 children and youth attend sessions. The demand for high-quality, accessible, and consistent support for children with ASD remains consistently high.

"The Centre is a place of comfort, new achievements, small and large victories, positive emotions, and a sense of being part of a family for our children. You can feel the warmth, care, and love in every corner. The fact that children happily go to the Centre speaks for itself," adds another parent of a participant.
