"Thanks to this support, I won’t have to freeze this winter," says Ms. Alla, her voice filled with relief.

When the war broke out in 2022, Ms. Alla had no choice but to flee to Dnipropetrovsk region, seeking safe at her brother's place. It was a painful decision to leave behind everything she had built, but safety came first. Then, came the heartbreaking news—her home had been damaged. Despite the risks, she knew she had to go back.

"It was incredibly difficult returning home," she recalls. "The house was in ruins, and there was so much to fix."

Slowly but surely, she repaired what was broken, restoring not just her house but a piece of her life. Yet, as one struggle ended, another began—how would she survive the winter? Last year, she had no choice but to collect firewood in her yard or along the streets, doing whatever she could to stay warm.

This year, things are different. Thanks to our partners, we were able to secure financial assistance for Ms. Alla, allowing her to buy firewood and prepare for the freezing months ahead.

This vital support is made possible through the partnership of Charity Foundation "Angels of Salvation" and Danish Refugee Council (DRC), with financial support from Ukraine Humanitarian Fund. Because of this help, Ms. Alla—and many others like her—will face winter with warmth and hope.
